Yes – TAP® uses a borate-based pesticide derived from natural minerals. When professionally installed and left undisturbed, it is completely safe for children and pets. It uses the same mineral compound found in many common household products.
TAP® is designed to last the lifetime of your home. Unlike standard fiberglass that can sag over time, TAP® maintains its thermal and pest-control properties for decades – with zero maintenance required.
Yes – this is called attic capping and it is one of the most popular and cost-effective options. We blow TAP® directly over your existing insulation to increase your R-value and add built-in pest protection at the same time.
R-value measures insulation ability to resist heat flow. In East Texas, the recommended R-value for attics is R-38 to R-49. During your free inspection, we will measure your current R-value and recommend exactly how much TAP® you need.
Not always. If your existing insulation is clean and in good condition, we can cap it with TAP®. If there is rodent contamination, mold, or moisture damage, we recommend full removal first – which we also provide.
